Ed Romero has been singing since the age of ten. He was influenced by the folk music of his native Argentina and the Brazilian pop vocals he heard from Buenos Aires. Then, at about age 15, he heard a recording that changed his approach to music forever—Johnnie Ray singing “Just Walking in the Rain”!

Ed says that it wasn’t necessarily the song that had such an impact, but the sound of Johnnie Ray’s voice and his interpretation of it. He obtained every recording of Ray’s that he could find, and then started looking to other American singers. Thus he discovered Frank Sinatra, followed by Tony Bennett, Vic Damone, Mel Torme, and, later on, Ed Ames and Jack Jones.

In his early twenties, Ed was invited to sing at a jazz concert and was hooked! Compelled by the Great American Standards and the excitement of jazz, Ed  knew that performing would forever be a part of his life.

Since those early years, Ed has appeared in clubs and coffee houses, on recordings and television appearances. Singing from American classics and a repertoire of international hits, he strives to bring his audiences both the easy comfort of gentle rhythms and the warm glow of those “special” songs.
