Ed Romero brings you the great standards of American music written by Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin and many others and also songwriters from other countries that have been adopted by the American public such as Antonio Jobim and Michel Legrand.

On occasions he will also offer you some Spanish, Portuguese or Italian songs. He will also include more contemporary songs in his act when he believes that their quality has destined them to become standards.

Ed feels at ease with the familiar jazz beat of the easy swing as well as the intimate ballad or the gentle bossa nova and the occasional Spanish song.

When he swings, his contagious rhythm will have you snapping your fingers in time and yet, you will always be aware of the story the lyrics tell you. When he sings a ballad you will feel the excitement of new love or the pain of the love that is lost.

Clicon, Ed would perform at no up-front cost (Unless equipment is required) contingent on such organization issuing Ed a receipt for charitable contributions on a pre-arranged amount to be agreed upon.

                       Musicians and Equipment :

Ed will provide his own musicians, based on the available budget.

Although the most preferable performance would usually include a trio (Piano – Bass – Drums) sometimes a guitar is also added.

Ed also performs on more intimate settings accompanied by just a piano or, on some occasions adding a bass for a “warmer” sound.

Again, the number of musicians will be dependant on the budget.

It is generally expected that the client would provide a stage and sound equipment.  However, arrangements can be made for Ed to provide these elements for an additional price agreed upon in advance.

                           Types of Shows:

The type of show to be provided will largely depend on the venue and will be discussed with the client in advance to make sure all parties are in agreement.

                              Examples:

In a Night Club / Cabaret venue Ed would perform one show consisting of two or three sets of approximately 45-Minutes each.  The first set will usually be geared towards Jazz and American Standards and te second will include more Latin numbers.  If there was to be a late a third set this would probably include some more contemporary material.

If only one set is required, the set would be somewhat longer (Approximately one hour) and will consist of a mix of material. However, it should be noted that, if a given client requests a specific type of material (i.e.  100% Jazz and Standards) this will be complied with. This type of show is mostly geared to larger clubs and / or major corporate parties.

In addition, Ed can perform with only a pianist on some more intimate parties.

This type of performance is also adequate for some “low key” restaurants.
